Fighting MOOCs

See Mark Guzdial’s commentary in Fighting the MOOCopaplyse. Are we going to move toward *only* MOOCs, and no longer have the classroom in the traditional sense? I certainly hope not – students would be missing out on so many important real-world interactions. But even if we do head in that direction, it is going to take a long time to phase out the classroom.

Does MSU need to hop on board with the MOOC craze? We are just piloting our online version of CSE 231: Introduction to Programming, and that’s traditional distance learning. It appears we are behind in this game.
